Activity Provider Research 2009

Dear Activity Provider,

CAAN has embarked on a programme of research including consumer research and activity provider research.

During October’s Activity Tourism Forum (ATF) held at Greenmount Agricultural College, it was consistently raised by the members that they wish the ATF to become “the voice of the industry”. The only way to make this voice louder is through quoting fact rather than opinion.

Research results are absolutely imperative in order to:

• secure funding for marketing initiatives and product development
• secure prominence within Northern Ireland Tourist Board strategy
• demonstrate the growth of the activity tourism sector
• demonstrate the value and importance of the activity tourism sector to the Northern Ireland tourism industry

Research results are virtually non-existent at the moment and therefore this is a serious weakness in any proposal made to try to benefit the activity tourism sector.

With this in mind and as a member of the ATF, I would now request that you spend 10 minutes maximum to:

• Complete the questionnaire for the main tourism season – May to September Inclusive
• Send the completed questionnaire to me by post or email by Friday 18th December

Please note that your answers will be treated as confidential at all times. Any information made available from the research will only be total results for the industry.

CAAN will produce a report of the findings in early 2010 and this will be available to everybody.
