Hi All,

Please find available to download details of CAAN’s Public Relations (PR) plan for Activity Tourism 2010-2011.

This PR plan is an integral part of the overall Activity Tourism Action Plan 2010-2011.

Both documents are available to download at http://www.countrysiderecreation.com/publications/action-plans/#Activity%20Tourism%20Action%20Plans

The PR Plan outlines:

o Key Aims
o Key Target Markets
o Key PR Messages
o PR Tactics for 2010 – 2011
o PR Priorities for Activity Tourism 2010 – 2011 including:
o 2010 Festivals
o 2010 Events
o Key Products
o PR Themes

How to get involved:

The PR plan will give you an overview of CAAN’s PR activity for the year. However we will make you aware of relevant PR opportunities as they arise throughout the year. But here are a few top tips:

1. Keep OutdoorNI.com Up to Date:

CAAN’s Marketing team are approached by journalists and PR agencies on almost a daily basis seeking information on activities in Northern Ireland.

On the vast majority of occasions the deadline for return of information is 24 hours therefore we simply do not have time to contact you all individually to find out the information. Therefore the most proactive way to get involved in our PR activity is to ensure you keep your details on our consumer websites up to date.

We regularly use updated news items, events, day/short breaks as the focus of our PR.

2. Communicate Early:

If you have something major up your sleeve this year such as:

o An innovative activity
o An interesting customer
o A new angle to your business
o An exciting new event

Then please tell us as early as you can. It can be frustrating finding out something really exciting is happening but only finding out a few days before. Please tell us in advance so we can build into future PR work.

3. Check out our PR Tool Kit

This is available to download from the PR section of the OutdoorNI.com on-line Trade Forum. Click on the red link at the bottom of this email.

If you have forgotten your Username and Password then please contact me.

The PR TOOL KIT includes:

-How to create a PR plan

It is important to create a clear PR plan for the year so you can be prepared for each opportunity before it arises. This will also help focus your PR throughout the year.

-10 Top Tips for effective PR

We have included our 10 top tips for effective PR which covers how to write a press release including an example press release template and an example of good practice for you to follow.

I hope you find this information useful and can use it to help us generate PR throughout the year.

Remember if you do not tell us – then how can we tell anybody else

Kind Regards,

Chris Scott
