The Lough Neagh Partnership are working on a new flagship event for August/September 2010 in the style of ‘Im a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ and are going to call it ‘Im an MLA Get Me Out Of Here’. It will be held over 2 days on Ram’s Island, Lough Neagh and aims to raise money for Lough Neagh Rescue and the Ram’s Island Project. We believe it would make great viewing & entertainment for the public with MLA’s such as Martin McGuinness, Barry McElduff, David Ford, Trevor Clarke & Thomas Burns anticipated to take part in the challenge. It will feature traditional bush tucker trials such as those seen on the TV series in Australias Jungle! (All trials will be environmentally friendly)

We hope to get the event covered on NI Television and have already had interest from UTV in doing this. We are looking for organizations to sponsor challenges/trials eg: The Cranfield Inn have agreed to sponsor a cocktail challenge – this will entail setting up a mini bar on Ram’s Island and provide some not very pleasant cocktails for the unfortunate MLA’s! The Pirates of Lough Neagh have agreed to set up a pirate themed trial (which could get quite messy) involving costumes and active participation of MLA’s. The Lough Neagh Boating Heritage Association have agreed to sponsor a rowing challenge involving traditional Lough Neagh wooden boats. Any organization sponsoring a challenge/trial will be able to promote their organization through the task (branding etc.)

If you would be interested in sponsoring a challenge, we would love to hear from you – the wackier the idea the better! And of course its all in a good cause.

If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me

Kind regards
