CAAN has successfully developed Northern Ireland’s Outdoor Adventure Blog since January 2010 see http://www.outdoorni.com/blog/

The blog covers the 4 main activity areas – adventure activities, walking, canoeing and cycling. The purpose of each article is to keep the website current and topical whilst also encouraging web users to visits other areas of CAAN’s websites.

The blogs are promoted via our e-newsletters and social networking sites.

To date we have used a series of ‘authors’ on a voluntary basis and many of the blogs have been written by CAAN staff. However to keep momentum and build on our early success we are now looking to recruit copy writers.

We are seeking copy writers with:

o A keen interest in outdoor sports – they may focus on one particular area
o The ability to write inspirational pieces in a relaxed informal style
o The ability to pitch to diverse product markets e.g. families, Republic of Ireland, beginners, activity enthusiasts
o The ability to follow a brief laid out by the CAAN marketing team

Copy writers will be supplied with briefs as outlined by the CAAN marketing team. For example one such brief for adventure activities would be:

Camping and Outdoor Activities – The perfect family weekend away
300 words maximum
o Provide an inspirational overview of camping with the family
o Link the combination of enjoying the outdoors not only through camping but also outdoor activities
o Provide at least five example of outdoor activity centres with or near to NITB recognised campsites
o Demonstrate clear links to activity events and packages on OutdoorNI.com

However we would be interested in hearing from copywriters with their own ideas for relevant articles.

I would be grateful if you could pass this message on to anybody who you feel might be interested in such an opportunity.

Applicants will be asked to supply a short article on a brief provided. This brief will match your area of speciality and will be used to assess your suitability for the role.

Rates will be negotiable.

If you have any questions or queries then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards,

Chris Scott
