Hi all,

It was requested at the Activity Tourism Forum in Oct 2009 that a representative from the Forest Service Northern Ireland attend a future Activity Tourism Forum to give an overview of the their Outdoor Recreation Strategy and in particular clarification regarding charges to activity providers.

Andrew Porter (Chair of Activity Tourism Forum) wrote to David Small, Chief Executive of Forest Service Northern Ireland on 25th November 2009 requesting clarification on activity charges.

The working group received a written response on 16th December 2009.

At the working group meeting held on 7th January 2010 it was agreed that the response from Forest Service did not sufficiently answer the questions asked in the initial letter.

It was agreed that Andrew Porter and Chris Scott (CAAN) should meet with a representative to discuss this further.

This meeting was held with Ian Irwin of Forest Service NI on 4th May 2010.

The outcome of this meeting is outlined on the attached document.

Kind Regards,

Chris Scott
