Summer Campaign 2011

CAAN will be launching the OutdoorNI.com Summer Campaign on week beginning 23rd May 2011.

See details below and attached for your convenience.

The campaign will run throughout the course of the ‘summer season’ until the end of September 2011.

The purpose of this email is to let you know:

-What marketing activity will be taking place
-How YOU can get involved to promote your business

Aim of the campaign

-To increase the awareness of outdoor activities available in Northern Ireland to the NI, ROI & GB markets
-To increase traffic to OutdoorNI.com
-To increase web referrals and enquiries to activity providers from OutdoorNI.com

Target Markets / Segments:

Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Great Britain

Segments – the focus will be on:
-‘Kids & Family’– families with children aged 8 -16 years old
-‘Fun with Friends’ - 18 -30 year olds

Segments – emphasis will also be on:
-‘Learn Something New’ – events / activity ideas with the sole purpose of teaching a new skill e.g. canoeing course
-‘Take on the challenge’ - adventure races, endurance events, cycling sportives

Getting involved

There are plenty of easy ways to get involved. The more you put in, the more you will get out. An overview of opportunities is outlined below. We will also send a monthly reminder.

1. Upload Events / Activity Ideas

We cannot promote your activities or related events if they are not on OutdoorNI.com. So please spend time to ensure your details are up to date. The ‘How to get the best out of OutdoorNI.com’ User Guide is available to download from online trade forum. If you have forgotten your username and password then please do not hesitate to contact Chris Scott.

Have a look at the e-marketing schedule in Appendix 1 below. This will give you a good indication of what we will be promoting and when.

2. Offer a Competition Prize

OutdoorNI.com will be hosting a monthly competition. We would like to offer an activity experience as a prize. These should be aimed at either ‘Kids & Family’ or ‘Fun with Friends’ segments. Contact Chris Scott to offer a prize.

Coverage in return:

-Link to your website and overview of prize included in at least 1 -OutdoorNI.com e-newsletter sent to 6,500 consumer contacts
-Link to your website and overview of prize included on OutdoorNI.com ‘Win’ page
-Details included in Facebook posts (1800 fans) promoting the competition

3. Host a Blogger

OutdoorNI.com will be writing an ‘OutdoorNI does…’ blog each month. For a recent example see ‘OutdoorNI does Tree Top Adventure’ . These will be written either by a member of CAAN staff or guest blogger; we will send a blogger relevant to the activity e.g. a family for a family activity. There are a number of slots still available in the schedule in Appendix 1. Contact Chris Scott to host a blogger.

Coverage in return:

-Blog as per example above
-Link to blog included in a at least 1 OutdoorNI.com E-newsletter sent to 6,500 consumer contacts
-Blog will feature in a prominent position on OutdoorNI.com home page for 2 weeks
-Details included in Facebook posts (1800 fans) promoting the competition
