The Countryside Access and Activities Network (CAAN) in partnership with a wide range of organisations have delivered 5 canoe trails within Northern Ireland. The trails have been a resounding success, enjoying acclaim the world over; this will be further complimented by plans to develop 3 new Coastal Canoe Trails and a Foyle Canoe Trail during 2009/10.

To help ensure the canoe trails product continues to represent a quality experience, CAAN is calling for local paddlers to join our Volunteer Canoe Ranger scheme. The scheme will enable paddlers to report conditions along their local canoe trail (or section of trail) to CAAN on an annual basis. CAAN will then liaise with the relevant landowner should any maintenance issues arise. It’s a great way for you to help us make sure that the canoe facilities in your area are kept in good order!

The Volunteer Ranger Scheme is kindly sponsored by Cotswold, and to show our appreciation for your support all rangers will be invited to exclusive bi-annual in-store discount events.

To register an interest in becoming an official Volunteer Canoe Ranger please complete and return our application form. Alternatively for further information please contact:
