Following my email before Christmas I am sending a reminder that Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend 2012 has been scheduled for the 31st March & 1st April 2012.
As with last year, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) will commit budget and resources to the event. The Countryside Access and Activities Network (CAAN) and NITB will combine their resources to promote the event but like last year it is reliant on support from private sector activity providers to ensure its success.
Last year over 21 activity providers offered nearly 90 activity events to over 1400 people throughout the weekend, I hope that with your support this year we can make the event even bigger and better.
The aims of the event are to:
-increase the awareness of the wide range of outdoor activities available in Northern Ireland to both the Northern Irish and Republic of Ireland population -enhance activity tourism’s role as a key driver of spend within the tourism sector The objectives are to:
-‘Kick Start’ activity season -Generate repeat bookings for activity providers -Generate £500,000 PR value -Increase targeted consumer data collection -Increase digital footprint How to get involved?
Please find details available to download from the red link at the bottom of this email outlining how to get involved including guidance notes and good practice examples. The deadline to upload events is Friday 27th January 2012
Marketing
The marketing and promotion will be lead by NITB & CAAN. We will also supply toolkits to those activity providers involved detailing how you can assist with the marketing and promotion.
Please do not promote the event to the public until Friday 24th February 2012. At this stage the event mini website and marketing campaign will be in place.
Both Sarah Nelson and I from the CAAN marketing team are available to advise you on the concept and description of your event and assist with any questions or queries regarding Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend.
Kind Regards,
Chris Scott
