The original dates were 31st March & 1 April 2012 THESE HAVE NOW BEEN ALTERED TO SAT 24th MARCH & SUN 25th MARCH 2012 The reason for the alteration is that the official opening on the new Titanic Visitor Experience has been moved to the 31st March. It is also anticipated a large scale Maritime Festival will take place in Belfast during this weekend. This will obviously be one of the largest events in Northern Ireland's tourism history which would pose challenges to the promotion of Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend i.e. it would be extremely difficult to secure media coverage in the week leading up to the event (which is a key week for generating bookings). Also the events surrounding the opening will attract the same key markets that Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend is trying to attract therefore it would significantly reduce the numbers that could attend Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend. All other elements of Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend 2012 will remain the same so please upload events as per the previously circulated 'How to get involved' information. The deadline to upload events is Friday 27th January 2012. It is great to see so many events have been uploaded already. Can those who have do so please confirm with the CAAN Office that these events can run the week earlier. Please do not promote the event to the public until Friday 24th February 2012. At this stage the event mini website and marketing campaign will be in place. Both Sarah Nelson and I from the CAAN marketing team are available to advise you on the concept and description of your event and assist with any questions or queries regarding Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
