The aim of the website is to create a source for sustainable outdoor event planning in Northern Ireland. http://www.outdooreventplanning.com The website launch is to be accompanied by a FREE ‘Events in the Outdoors Seminar’ on 2nd Oct at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, near Craigavon. The seminar will see guest speakers from charities and event organisers across the UK & Ireland outline how they have employed best practice in event management to ensure sustainability in their own areas. Using the new website as the foundation the seminar will outline the good practice guidelines and procedures for Northern Ireland. Full details of the seminar are available at http://www.outdoorrecreationni.com/downloads/Outdoor%20Event%20Planning%20Seminar_2nd%20Oct%202012.pdf Opportunities for Activity Providers 1. Attend Seminar To attend the seminar please register with: Aidan Creamer Sport NI aidancreamer@sportni.net 028 9038 3215 2. Exhibit at Seminar Sport NI has invited over 80 Northern Irish charities that regularly use the outdoor environment to hold fundraising challenge events. There will be limited spaces for outdoor activity providers to exhibit their event delivery services during the various networking elements of the seminar. Sport NI and Outdoor Recreation NI have agreed that only those outdoor activity providers that have signed up to the good practice guidelines will be promoted on the OutdoorEventPlanning.com website and therefore only these providers may exhibit at the seminar. To ensure you are included in the event organisers’ section http://www.outdooreventplanning.com/organisers/ you need to follow these simple steps: 1. Read the Good Practice Guidelines www.outdooreventplanning.com/guidelines 2. Send an email to Chris Scott – Outdoor Recreation NI (formerly CAAN) chris@outdoorrecreationni.com and Mike McClure Sport NI mikemcclure@sportni.net stating that your organisation complies with the Good Practice Guidelines 3. Your Outdoor Events Planning Profile will then be turned ‘live’ and you can update this via your OutdoorNI.com trade login. If you have forgotten your log in details please ask Chris Scott to reset them. Once this is carried out please book your free exhibition space with: Aidan Creamer Sport NI aidancreamer@sportni.net 028 9038 3215 This project is administered by ORNI, is funded by Sport Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency with support from Mourne Heritage Trust, Ring of Gullion AONB Office, The National Trust and Mountaineering Ireland. Kind Regards, Chris Scott Activity Tourism Manager Outdoor Recreation NI
