Dear Tourism Partner

Tourism Ireland is delighted to announce that we will continue the Northern Ireland Industry Overseas Activation Programme (NIIOAP) for a second year in 2013.

2012 has been a very special year for Northern Ireland, with a wide range of anniversaries, events and developments which have provided an unprecedented opportunity to put Northern Ireland in the spotlight in a completely new way, to capture and hold the focus of world attention for the most positive reasons. 120 members of the Northern Ireland tourism industry got the opportunity to join Tourism Ireland overseas on the 2012 NIIOAP programme and to represent Northern Ireland and promote directly to overseas trade and consumers at 19 fairs, workshops and events throughout the globe.

Now, Tourism Ireland is looking to next year and in particular the Derry~Londonderry UK City of Culture 2013 celebrations, which will provide fresh and compelling reasons for people in GB and across the world to visit. We need your help in bringing the Northern Ireland proposition to life at our overseas promotions and would encourage you to get involved with us in 2013 in order to build on the success of ni2012 and the increased profile that Northern Ireland currently enjoys overseas. The feedback from the 2012 programme has been very positive with a number of those participating reporting an increase in business as a result of their participation.

Details of the Northern Ireland Industry Overseas Activation Programme (NIIOAP) are detailed below and we invite you to send your expression of interest to get involved. The large representation of Northern Ireland industry at the Tourism Ireland stand at World Travel Market in London recently was extremely welcome and essential in the highly competitive global marketplace. This programme hopes to build on this success to showcase Northern Ireland as an exciting, vibrant destination at many more trade and consumer promotions.

Tourism Ireland will continue to work hard throughout 2013 to keep Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland ‘top of mind’ for people around the world who can be persuaded to take a holiday or short break from overseas. At the end of this month, we will outline our plans for 2013, when we will build on new levels of awareness arising from ni2012 and will be pulling out all the stops to ensure that Northern Ireland increases its share of the global travel business.

We look forward to hearing from you,

Niall Gibbons
Chief Executive
