Based on the success of the Connecting Community Events last year where 95% of attendees rated the event as ‘very good’ or ‘good’ for building new contacts with providers of outdoor recreation .Venture Outdoors will be facilitating 2 Connecting Communities Events taking place throughout Northern Ireland in 2013.

These events will provide a unique networking opportunity for community groups and those involved in the provision of outdoor recreation to meet face-to-face and build positive relationships with one another.

When will the events take place?

Happening soon:

Derry-Londonderry
Wednesday 30th January 2013 11am-1pm
The City Hotel

A second event will take place in

Belfast
Wednesday 20th February 2013 11am- 1pm
Wellington Park Hotel

Exhibitor fees are £20pp including buffet lunch

Who are the events for?

The events are small scale and targeted at community groups and outdoor recreation providers e.g. outdoor activity providers, park rangers, managers and countryside officers.

Why should those involved in the provision of outdoor recreation attend?

These events will offer you
• An opportunity to showcase your product and services to underrepresented groups within your region
• A unique networking and information gathering opportunity with
community groups
• A chance to tap into niche markets and create future business
opportunities
• Ideas on sustainability for your business with the community and
voluntary sector.
• Potential for under-represented groups to participate more in outdoor
activities

Pauline Graham from Autism Initiatives NI and Alive Surf School attended the Venture Outdoors, Connecting Communities event in Ballymena , Pauline applied for and received funding to enable Alive Surf School and Autism Initiatives NI to deliver two 6 week surf programmes for young people aged between 11 – 18 years old who live in the Belfast Area. This lead to Autism Initiatives NI to be shortlisted for the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund where they won a further 10,000 euro to develop surfing programmes across Northern Ireland for their members.
This shows how successful these networking events can be and what a great opportunity they are for providers of outdoor recreation

Booking: Each event has a limited number of places available. Please follow the link to the booking form.
