As such, Outdoor Recreation NI in partnership with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and relevant local councils is hosting three industry development seminars and all those interested in providing mountain bike specific services are encouraged to attend. Mon 14th Jan – 7pm Broughderg Community Hall, Davagh Re Davagh Forest Trails in partnership with Cookstown District Council Tues 15th Jan – 7pm Castlewellan Community Centre Re Castlewellan Forest Park Trails in partnership with Down District Council Thurs 17th Jan – 6:30pm Warrenpoint Town Hall, Newry Re Rostrevor Forest Park Trails in partnership with Newry and Mourne District Council These free seminars will outline the vision for mountain biking in Northern Ireland and will profile the market we expect these new trails to attract. This is an opportunity for the private sector to forge partnerships with accommodation providers and cafes in each trail location and find out how your business can benefit from the new mountain bike trails across Northern Ireland. Why should you attend? This is your opportunity to make initial introductions with the accommodation and catering sector so that your business is front of mind when the following scenarios arise in the Spring. Scenario 1 A group of mountain bikers are planning a weekend trip over to the trails however they are flying from Liverpool and don’t want the hassle of dismantling, boxing and rebuilding their bikes etc. When booking they enquire with the accommodation provider as to the availability of bike hire in the area. They would also like someone to show them around on the first morning and enquire as to the availability of bike guiding on the trails. Scenario 2 A young family has come up from Dublin for a long weekend. They notice some mountain bike trail cards in the local café and ask the owner about the trails in the area. They like the sound of them and plan to visit the trails the following day however they need to hire suitable bikes. To attend these seminars simply click on the appropriate link below and register your place. Please note, these seminars are free to attend however places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis so register early to avoid disappointment. Monday 14th Jan - Davagh Forest Seminar - http://bit.ly/UkhC4u Tuesday 15th Jan - Castlewellan Seminar - http://bit.ly/ViEGlq Thursday 17th Jan - Rostrevor Seminar - http://bit.ly/UFkED9 In order to maximise the networking opportunities we would encourage all interested private sector operators to wear branded clothing and bring information on the services you provide. PLEASE NOTE - There may be some limited exhibition style space at these seminars for pop up displays etc. Even if you have already registered to attend these events we require you to contact us if you would like to exhibit.
