Outdoor Recreation NI has a unique opportunity for Outdoor Activity Providers in Northern Ireland to participate in an exclusive one day training course.

'Climbing for All', a Mountain Training specialist CPD course will take place Wednesday 11th December 2013. This full day recognised accredited course consists of theory and practical sessions providing skills and knowledge to support disabled people who wish to climb. The course will be facilitated by Graeme Hill, tutor of the course and disability advisor for the British Mountaineering council and Mountain Leader Training England.

Climbing for All provides an excellent opportunity for instructors to build coaching skills and techniques and open up opportunities for disabled people to have a go at climbing.

Climbing for All Event Details
Date- 11th December
Time- 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
Venue- Tollymore National Outdoor Centre
Cost- £40 per person including lunch

The course will cover:

• Language Inappropriate/Appropriate
• Causes of disability
• Types of disability
• Models of Disability
• Climbing Environments
• Side Supporting Climbs
• Vertical hoist systems
• Wheelchair Abseiling

Booking early is advised as there are a limited number of spaces available.
