Hi all,

Following consultation previously carried out with Activity Tourism Forum (Oct 2012) and Activity Tourism Working Group (Dec 2012) to identify training needs for the sector.

Two of the key areas identified were:

• Practical Social Media Training
• Management / Leadership Courses for Owner Managers

Thanks to support from both SkillsActive and Skills Delivery Branch, Department for Employment and Learning - there are now opportunities for outdoor activity providers to avail of both options. Details of the courses are available below.

This practically based course tailored to the outdoor industry is designed to provide participants with an overview of the latest developments in social media and to enable them to demonstrate how they use social media to market their products and services. It will be delivered by i3 at Southern Regional College.

Training Sessions will take place on:

10th February – 9.30am – 4.30pm
24th February – 9.30am – 4.30pm

Participants must attend both sessions.

Limited number of places available. Restricted to one person per organisation.

Cost £55 per person (Actual cost is £235pp with DEL supporting 75%) . N.B. Lunch not included.

MLDP offers a comprehensive portfolio of accredited training options to help employers meet the specific development needs of their managers and leaders at all levels.

The Programme is open to managers at varying levels of development from first line management through to training for directors and senior managers, and addresses a range of business areas.

For a limited period, financial assistance is available from the Department for Employment and Learning to eligible NI-based Micro Businesses, Small to Medium-sized Enterprises and Social Economy Enterprises at a rate of 100% of Programme costs (subject to maximum Programme costs of £3,000 per participant). Eligible companies may avail of up to £7,000 in funding through MLDP in each financial year.
