NITB are contacting all accommodation providers calling for them to submit offers for the Giro & Spring 2014 marketing campaign. They are asking accommodation in particular to offer Experiential Offers and Breaks. This is an ideal opportunity for activity providers who do not offer accommodation or haven’t previously, to approach accommodation providers located nearby to propose working together. Accommodation providers will get an added product to sell and activity providers such as yourselves will have a chance to harness business from visitors staying overnight.

Research shows that visitors now seek more than a basic package. They want experiences – to sample something different from their daily routine and to connect with the destination they are visiting. NITB are encouraging accommodation providers to provide visitors with an authentic NI experience with ideas including:

•Fun Family Breaks e.g. kids go free, kids menus, kids entertainment / activities
•Get Active Breaks e.g. golf, cycling and walking

The onus is on the accommodation providers to upload the ‘offer’ to the system (by 31st January) so it may prove worthwhile contacting your local accommodation to work out a deal.

To promote the offers NITB will be delivering yet another major marketing campaign promoting Northern Ireland as a short break destination to both the NI & ROI markets. The Summer 2013 Campaign generated circa £19.8 million for the local Northern Ireland tourism industry whilst their Autumn TV ad was seen by 89% of the Republic of Ireland TV Viewing public (3.079million) and 83% of the NI TV Viewing public (1.153 million).
