We are involved in some research that highlights the importance of sport as an industry as well as a recreation. I am constantly flagging up the fact that Outdoor Activities is a significant industry in NI as well as being a set of sports. It would be great to see a high level of response from the outdoor sector.

The survey can be found at http://www.SkillsActive.com/resources/consultations-have-your-say/the-sporting-workforce-in-northern-ireland/.

“SkillsActive and Sport Northern Ireland are committed to developing and improving the evidence base for sport. This research project aims to assess the changing landscape of the Sporting Workforce in Northern Ireland in terms of paid and voluntary job roles, and to examine the skills required to fill these new or changing job requirements. We need you or your organisation to take 20 minutes to complete this important survey to ensure that we create an accurate profile of the sporting workforce in Northern Ireland. Thank you.”

Eamonn McCartan, Chief Executive of Sport Northern Ireland.

We hope that as many organisations as possible will take part to present a comprehensive picture of sport in Northern Ireland. All information will be treated in confidence and no identifiable information about you or your organisation will be released without your knowledge and agreement. Please feel free to forward this email onto friends and colleagues who are involved with sport.

Please note that to encourage you to contribute to the survey there will be a prize draw for 3 prizes; a weekend break 4*; sports equipment voucher; £150 to recognised training.

If it would be helpful to receive a Word version of the questionnaire to help you prepare answers, please email: surveys@SkillsActive.com.

Mike
