Please find attached an information bulletin regarding the forthcoming relaunch of the Ulster Way on September 16th 2009. The purpose of this bulletin is to make you aware that the route is in the final stages of redevelopment and also let you have a look at the new website. We feel it is more productive if the ‘industry’ knows about the product before the consumer and therefore can be ready to avail of PR opportunities and be prepared to deal with customer enquiries before they arise.
The route of the new Ulster Way has been coordinated by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) with input from the Ulster Way Advisory Committee and many others
The Countryside Access and Activities Network (CAAN) has designed a new website (funded by NIEA) for the route www.walkni.com/ulsterway and we are also aiding NIEA with the PR for the launch and will continue to promote the route along with all the other Quality Walks on our award winning website www.walkni.com.
Although the website is available online there is still some final development to happen on the ground i.e. new signage is in the process of being installed. The website will give you an indication of the new concept for the route and where the revised route goes.
We will be developing a PR plan in advance of the launch over the next 10 days so I would appreciate if you do not share this information with your press contacts at this stage.
This is a significant project which benefits the vast majority of Northern Ireland so if you want to assist with the PR at an international, national or local level then please do not hesitate to contact me. I will circulate both national, local and specialist media (walking magazines etc) press releases within the next 10 days.
If you have any questions or queries on any of the above please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Chris Scott
